Sustaining Dunbar is part of the Transition Network as well as being a Community Development Trust for the Dunbar and East Linton ward of East Lothian. Its purpose is to bring people together to plan and start creating a low carbon, locally resilient future for our community. Set up in 2007 we became a charitable company limited by guarantee with a board of directors elected from the membership in November 2008. Membership is open to anyone resident and eligible to vote in the Dunbar and East Linton ward.

We have run a wide range of projects and activities over recent years and have incubated a number of new social enterprises, most recently a waste reuse hub.  Currently we are mainly focussed on setting up a Coworking Hub in the town centre, running a community garden in the grounds of our local hospital, organising regular member events and running a community web-platform -see more information on our website.
